Small business in Canada
Rent, local customers, seasons, cash flow, staff, inventory — the real pressure behind a small store.
Vietnamese–Canadian small business owner · Vancouver, BC
Real business. Real life. Real Canada.
I help Vietnamese small business owners in Canada — especially women who want to build something of their own — develop the mindset, marketing and real systems to act with clarity. Everything I share comes from actually running DH Garden Centre here in Vancouver.

A real business, not just a brand
Built on real proof — a real store, real customers, real reviews.
“I don’t share to prove I’m successful. I share because I know what it feels like to start over.”
Who I am
I’m Jasmine Tran — known to the Vietnamese community as Hiền Canada — a small business owner living in Vancouver and the owner of DH Garden Centre. After more than fifteen years in logistics and management in Vietnam, I started my career again from the beginning when my family moved to Canada.
I share practical lessons on small business, marketing, AI, personal growth and family life as a Vietnamese person in Canada. My strength isn’t a perfect image — it’s the truth: real business, real products, real customers, real costs, real mistakes and real lessons.
My story
More than 15 years in logistics, international trade and operations — including about 10 years in a management role at a Japanese logistics company. A good job, a comfortable life.
I left a stable, comfortable life in Vietnam to reunite my family in Canada. Not an escape — a harder choice, made for family and for a bigger responsibility.
Settling into a new country with a family and young children — learning the local market, the language, the customers and a whole new way of doing business.
Together with my husband Darrell, I built DH Garden Centre — combining his gardening expertise with my background in operations, logistics and trade. Plants, pottery, retail, online sales and real customers.
I’m sharing the real journey — the wins and the mistakes — to help other Vietnamese people in Canada feel less lost, less alone, and make calmer, clearer decisions.
What I can go deep on
Rent, local customers, seasons, cash flow, staff, inventory — the real pressure behind a small store.
Facebook, Google Business, websites, landing pages, leads, short video and email — and how to actually measure results.
Using ChatGPT, Claude, NotebookLM, Obsidian and Lark to reduce chaos, build SOPs and plan — without empty automation.
Starting again, raising children, holding the family together, and finding confidence without losing yourself.
Plants, pots, handmade Vietnamese pottery, landscaping and the green lifestyle we build at DH Garden Centre.
Why you can trust what I teach
I only teach what I’ve both studied properly and done in real life. My expertise comes from two places at once: running a real business every day, and learning continuously from strong programs.
How I work
I speak only from what I’ve lived through. No polishing, no unrealistic promises.
I break a problem into parts: goal, customer, product, channel, content, people, KPIs and cash flow.
I favour small actions you can take right now over beautiful theory that stays far from real life.
Who I serve
I serve Vietnamese small business owners in Canada first — especially women who want to start a business but feel stuck between family, money, the local market, marketing, AI, staff and the fear of starting late.
Learn with me
Everything I teach follows one method — Real · Clear · Doable. No hype, no get-rich-quick: just what actually works in the Canadian market, drawn from a business I run every day.
Focused group sessions on practical marketing, funnels, Google Business, content and AI for small owners — with real examples you can copy.
Step-by-step training to start and grow a small business in Canada: mindset, customer, product, channels, systems, KPIs and cash flow.
Work directly with me on your own business — your market, your numbers and your next clear, doable actions.

In the community
I was honoured to be invited by the Vietnamese Association of Sudbury, Ontario to write for their Lunar New Year newspaper — “Xuân Bính Ngọ”, Issue No. 5, published on January 18, 2026 — sharing the real story of starting over and building a small business in Canada.
